Lisa
Reihana, Hemi Mcgregor, Reuben Paterson The art museum ends
the year with a glittering exhibition by three new wave Maori artists
and completes a cycle of exhibitions in the current year by three
senior Maori artists, Shona Rapira Davies, Diane Prince and Robyn
Kahukiwa.

Lisa
Reihana, Nga Puhi, Ngati Hine, Ngai Tu re-interprets her Digital
Marae installation for this exhibition and provides a linking context
between the works of Paterson and Macgregor.
Hemi
Macgregor Ngati Kahungunu, Ngai Tuhoe extends his work for his MA
thesis with three dimensional multi media works based on Maori mythology
and Maori theology.
Reuben
Paterson Ngati Rangitihi, Tuhoe - works are multi media moving digital
images to be exhibited in the contemporary gallery. Reuben says
"I am working with a guy called Jed Town who was once in the
punk band Fetus Productions. We are filming my glitter paintings
and digitally reorganising them into kowhaiwhai patterns that swim
around the room. My inspirations are the books by Peter Gossage
and the stories of Maui and his attraction to 80's space invader
games"
This
is the first exhibition in a public gallery in Northland for all
three artists.
