The Whangarei Art Museum is the public gallery of the district and the only public gallery in Northland.

You can visit us in our new premises at The Hub in the Town Basin, Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand.

The original museum opened in June 1996 in an historical arts and crafts building in beautiful Cafler Park adjacent to the cultural amenities of Forum North Theatre and the conservatory and Fernery.

The art museum is the permanent home of the city art collection which embraces both heritage and contemporary art work. The Whangarei Art Museum is also the venue for internally curated and national touring exhibitions - designed to showcase the full diversity of creative art practice in New Zealand and Northland.
