This publication constitutes the first part of the new series of 'Cahiers de la Collection Lambert', conceived as true testimonies to the importance and quality of the collections of works preserved in Avignon.

Starting this cycle with Sol LeWitt seemed obvious, as he is present in the history of Yvon Lambert's gallery and the collection that bears his name. Passionate about this artist, a symbol not only of the breaks initiated by the new avant-gardes but also of a deep attachment to a universal art history conscious of the past, Yvon Lambert thus acquired and deposited no fewer than two 'Wall Drawings', five volume structures, twenty-four works on paper, two models, and an artist's book.

This work revisits the artist's presence in the Lambert Collection's holdings and his relationship with the collector through photographs of works, some of which have never been published, exhibition views in the museum's rooms, as well as an unpublished interview with Yvon Lambert.
